Go-Go-Gadget Energy!

Starbucks Doubleshot® Energy+Coffee sent me a few cans of their elixir and on Wednesday, I was running late and had no time to make coffee, so I innocently grabbed a can of the vanilla flavor.

Little did I know I was opening a can of AMAZING. I literally felt a rush of energy while I drank it. I was seized with the ability to focus and finally tackle my mess of a desk. (After which I incredulously tweeted this.)

Now, let’s get this out of the way right now – this doesn’t taste like your average coffee. No, this has super powers, so it tastes a little less typical Starbucks iced coffee and a little more energy-y. If I’m going to drink an energy drink, you’d better believe I’m picking up one of these over nasty Red Bull (sorry, dude, but you tasted like carbonated lint-covered lollipops. No bueno.)

If you’ve been reading my blog, you know I’m struggling to keep my head above water when it comes to my new job. (Cliff’s Notes: I work a lot and whine about it.) These little babies really help me get going in the morning and squeeze more into my already-full day. Which is a major WIN.

The only shortcoming I can find is that the cans are labeled as two servings. Ha. Funny, right? Silly Starbucks, don’t you know I love caffeine?

Now, for the fun part: Time to giveaway some prizes!

What’s in it for you?

Um, coffee!

Okay, how about this:

Five (5) STANDARD PRIZE PACKS (valued at $30 each): Stealth Switch™, $5 Starbucks® Card, Starbucks Doubleshot® Energy+Coffee coupons, Starbucks Doubleshot® Energy+Coffee-branded white board.

That Stealth Switch? It’s this awesome little doohickey that allows you to switch between windows on your computer so you can deftly avoid being caught browsing the internet/blogging/on Facebook/tweeting/stalking your ex-boyfriend/picking up a new outfit. Awesome, right? For more ways to feign productivity at work, check out www.energypluscoffee.com.

What’s in it for me?

There is a prize for the three bloggers who get the most comments. An awesome prize. And I’m not above begging for your comments. I promise. (Or taking photos like this.)

Okay, how the heck do you enter?

Just leave a comment answering: Why do YOU need more energy? by Monday, Novemeber 9th at 9am EST.

  4. Because there are so many wedding magazines to read and so little time. Just kidding.
    I’m not THAT crazy (anymore).

  5. I have 2 kids, 2 and 5 months. that alone would be enough reason, but my 2 year old has special needs and is complete dependent. I also work part-time from home and they both stay at home with me!

  6. I need more energy because I leave for work at 6am – and drive 1.5 hours in dull, boring traffic to get there.

I need energy so I don’t fall asleep behind the wheel, and die in a fiery car accident!

Haha! Please don’t die in fiery death! Oy.

  17. I need more energy because I have two kids and I’m up all night making Craft Kits for Kids that I sell.

  18. I run my own housekeeping business with three employees, my husband and I farm full time, I have two children aged 5 and 8…..need I say more?! Any extra boost I can get I need!

  19. I need more energy to get through my 40 hours of work and 15 hours of school (not including studying and essays!) every week omg I feel like I could DIE.
OK, not really ‘die’. But I need energy.

  20. I need more energy to bike to work every morning! When I know I have some scrumptious Starbucks waiting for me, it always makes the morning commute well worth it. Plus it is the right jump start to a day of paperwork, people, and running around on a college campus!!

  21. OK. I’m entering. But only because you begged. :-)

Does simply being a “grown-up” with one of those dreaded 9-5 jobs (while dreaming about next year, when I’ll return to school to undertake graduate studies…all the while somehow convincing myself that doing so will somehow give me more freedom, more time to do the things I want to do and just generally create a less-tired-all-the-time Kim) count as a good enough reason for needing more energy? :-) Because that’s what I’ve got going on over here.

Sometimes it’s all the motivation I can muster to get up and then decide which is going to take the least effort, a 25 minute bike ride, a 45 minute walk or a 75 minute bus ride to work. (That becomes a harder decision in the winter…when it is SO dark and snowy that walking and biking become difficult propositions around here but that bus ride is just still so darn long when I only work 2.5 miles from where I live.) Lately, it’s been a real struggle to not get my car all re-registered and otherwise drivable (but I don’t want to!)

Anyway. Good luck! I hope you get the most comments!

You are so hard core! I love it. :) Alaska AND no car!? Whew.

  22. I need energy to take care of myself after taking care of my baby’s needs first! Its been a challenge to get a shower in, much less more specialized me time, in the four months he’s been alive!

  23. I tweeted about the contest AND have a badge on my blog. :)

  24. I need more energy to keep up the pesky, never stopping, middle schoolers that I deal with on a daily basis. You have to be energized to stay ahead of them!

  25. I need more energy to swoop down and catch my finned friends. The river has been getting pretty strong lately and the rapids sweep the little aquatic animals right out from my talons.
    Ca-Caw Ca-Caw!

  26. I need more energy so that I can run laps to stay warm in my freezing cold, drafty apartment!

  27. more energy? one word – toddler :-p

  28. Why do I need energy? Between having a bf, 6 cats, 2 mini web-stores, and a job, I need help keeping my sanity. Really. LOL.

    Thanks, Ashley!!

  29. I need more energy because I have chronic sinisitis which drags me down, have two sons and a puppy to keep up with…..

  35. I need more energy because I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, so as the days get shorter, my energy level gets lower.

  36. I need more energy because I’m a mom. Isn’t that enough? My kids dance 6 days a week, I work from home, work for a non-profit. Plus hubby cannot drive after an accident which means he also isn’t working (driving me crazy) + my mom is disabled, I take care of her & my brother just had an injury & cannot drive. I’m losing my mind, need more hours in the day!!!

  37. Well, I have a crazy sister Ashley, and we need to have fun together, and without energy this is not possible. Haha Just kidding. But really my house is freezing and I also need it to warm myself. : ) Oh yeah and if I win then I will share with my sister (Ashley). It also takes a lot of energy to deal with my CRAZY parents. And I don’t have a job to really pay for it, so either I win or no energy for me. As you can tell I need this!
